V Centuries ago: birth of Javier

Today, the Society of Jesus, missionaries and all Catholics celebrate the 500 anniversary of birth of Francisco Javier, saint of missions.

His life was amazing, he was born in an important family, and he became Master of Arts in Paris. But he left his well-off life to follow Ignacio de Loyola in the foundation of the Society. Then he went towards East, he stablished missions in India, Indonesia, and Japan. He died at the age of 46 because lung illness, going to China.

It’s a pity, he has not a blog, but there is a good article about him at Wikipedia.
